What is digital high magnification of sperm?
Using high resolution and high magnification digital enlargement technology our scientists can enlarge images of sperm to over 7300x magnification compared to the standard 200-400x. Using defined sperm sizes and shape information, the scientist can select the most appropriate sperm to be injected into the egg.
This technique has been shown, in a number of studies, to be associated with an increase in fertilisation and pregnancy rates; and a reduction in miscarriage rates in some cases of severe male infertility.
Who is digital high magnification suitable for?
Digital high magnification of sperm is suitable for men with severely reduced levels of sperm morphology or with mid-or-high range DNA damaged sperm where there is a higher risk of miscarriage and reduced clinical pregnancy rates with the standard ICSI treatment. Your Fertility Specialist can advise if it is appropriate for you.
